The Most Special Vineyard Near Brisbane On The Scenic Rim

Kooroomba scenic rim Kangaroo Lavender Farm

We were having a fantastic weekend around Mount Barney, and not ready to end it just yet. So we decided to explore a bit the Scenic Rim Wine Trail on our way back to Brisbane. We chose to stop at Kooroomba as we were intrigued by the description on the brochure.

With a lavender farm in the vineyard, they promise a taste of French Provence on the Scenic Rim.

What an excellent last-minute choice! It was the perfect destination to close the bracket of our great gateway to Mount Barney! We loved the views of the many peaks of the Scenic Rim region (easy to identify with the PeakFinder app). The extra special touch of lavender created a unique atmosphere. With some vines in the background, we could have felt in Provence – if it wasn’t for the kangaroo jumping around.

The wine tasting was a bit quick (only four wines) but still a nice experience to make us wait for a table at the restaurant. They get busy during weekends, so it’s better to make a booking if you plan your visit in advance.

The sophisticated menu was a great surprise with plenty of choices full of originality. We all had to try in each other’s plates as we were intrigued by what we were eating and discovering new tastes.

The food was delicious and well presented, in such a lovely setting – what else could we ask for?

I was utterly charmed, and I will visit again. If you’re looking for a romantic place near Brisbane for a lunch date, this could be the one.

The best time to visit is from May to October – when lavender blooms.
