The Royal National Park is one of Australia’s most beautiful national parks and also one of the easiest to access from a major city. Despite the proximity of Sydney, the wilderness feeling while exploring its many walking tracks stayed intact.
Rainbow Beach is reputed for being the best access to the famous Fraser Island (K’gari). But if you have time, don’t be too impatient to reach K’Gari and stay a bit in Rainbow Beach: it’s also worth a visit! It’s one of my favourite destinations as a weekend away from Brisbane.
Overnight canoeing is often mentioned as the best way to experience Katherine Gorge. It is indeed an amazing adventure but it will not seduce everybody!
Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk National Park (Northern Territory) was mentioned by Australian friends as their favourite place. I had to check it out!
Kayaking in this unspoilt and quiet area is fantastic. It is an extraordinary feeling to get the opportunity to explore the wilderness of the river.
Tips and objects I love to have with me when kayaking or canoeing.
